Compass: Where are u from?
Eylem: Hello, My name is Eylem Kaya. I'm From Turkey, İzmir.
Compass: What did u study, which kind of field, what was your fav. subject?
Eylem: I studied International Relations and I graduated in 2010. International Relations is a field about politics, political theories, diplomacy, international organizations, European Union and etc. I have learned history, political history, law, economy, European Union relations, sociology, foreign policy and all of the theories about International Relations. My favorite subject was sociology and political history.
Compass: What u do in your freetime, hobbies?
Eylem: I like reading book a lot. I am interested in Turkish, American and Russian literature. I also like writing short stories. I usually go to see movies and concerts in my free times. I like shopping, playing pc games, meeting and chating with my friends. I like solving puzzles, playing sudoku. Now I am trying to learn playing poker.
Compass: Where have you traveled before?
Eylem: I have traveled in Turkey but never been abroad before.
Compass: From where did u hear about EVS?
Eylem: I heard EVS from an advertisement on a web page (www.ab-ilan.com)
Compass: Why did u choose Hungary?
Eylem: Actually Hungary was my first choice. When I heard that I will go to Hungary, I felt so happy because I knew that it was a beautiful country. I really wanted to see here. I thought that I won't feel so 'foreigner' here because of some common cultural features. Also here the project was really for me. It was related to my field that I studied. Youth activities, cultural and educational activities is enjoyable and useful for me. I felt that I will be more successful in such kind of project.
Compass: What are your goals to reach during your project?
Eylem: Firstly I want to improve my english level. I'll try to speak more fluently when I finished my project. Also I aim to help youngsters here to learn communicate in english, encourage them to go abroad. It's a beneficial thing for them and me too. Because my other goal is having work experiences. This project will be a great thing for my following work or education life.
Compass: What u like in Hungary
Eylem: I like foods, streets, historical structure of the country, Duna river, Budapest. And also the people that I have met was so kind and friendly.
Compass: What was the most strange thing in Hungary comparing with your country?
Eylem: Kaposvar is so silent and calm city. At first it felt so strange, but then I got used to it. When I arrived here I had asked "Where is the people?" because Turkey is so noisy and complicated country. There is a lot of people on streets, traffic, etc. Even if I compare with Budapest, I can say that Turkey is more crowded then here.
Compass: What about Hungarian people, friends?
Eylem: Hungarian people was so friendly! They always treat me kindly. At least the people that I have met was like this. And the people in Compass was so, they are always helpful, friendly and tolerant to me.
Compass: What do you wanna do after your evs?
Eylem: First I will be back to my country. Then I'll try to find a scholarship for master education in another European country, or maybe in Hungary. If this plan does not work then I'll search for a job in Turkey.
Compass: Where u imagine yourself after 5-10 years?
Eylem: I imagine myself that I have a good job about my field and good life in Turkey or in another country.
Compass: What is your fav. food, music, movie?
Eylem: I like Turkish pasta, pizza, Hungarian Goulash soup. I like 80s, soft rock, alternative-pop music slow music, chill-out, trip-hop for example Michael Jackson, Alphaville, Abba, Beatles, Pink Floyd, Maroon 5, Lady Gaga, Lily Allen, Radiohead, Portishead, Damien Rice, Jason Mraz etc. I love watching psychological, sociological, thriller, mysterious, fantastic or historical movies like Fight Club, the Usual Suspects, Harry Potter Series, Batman Series, Matrix, The Lord of the Rings etc.
Compass: What is your most annoying habit?
Eylem: I can affected by the negative things easily and I feel angry or sad.
Compass: What did u learn in Hungary?
Eylem: I have learned team working in my organization, how to survive alone in a foreign country and how not to get lost.
